Hatton Consulting, Inc. is a full service asset management company. We believe there are three primary stages of wealth management; wealth accumulation, wealth preservation and wealth transfer. Each stage carries with it a unique set of challenges. Maximizing the return on your investments while simultaneously minimizing your tax burden and risk will enable the highest accumulation of wealth in the shortest amount of time. Once the desired level of wealth is realized the preservation of that wealth becomes paramount to realize a comfortable, secure and lasting retirement. Finally, developing a well thought out estate plan will ensure the most efficient transfer of wealth to your heirs.
Therefore, it is our desire to help define your goals and objectives, which leads to the seamless integration of your investment planning with your tax and estate planning. This process is conducted in a professional, friendly and relaxed yet confidential atmosphere. We will always speak in terms you can understand and feel comfortable with.
Wealth Accumulation
Truly understanding how the financial markets work takes much experience and study. The portfolio's we develop are rooted in Modern Portfolio Theory, applying this theory allows us to structure investment plans that have the optimal risk/reward relationship. We understand, and can support with an overwhelmingly amount of evidence, that maximizing the return in a portfolio is achieved through proper asset allocation not with stock-picking or market timing. In addition, we utilize sophisticated techniques to reduce the realization of capital gains; our goal is to maximize after-tax returns.
Wealth Preservation
The wealth preservation stage follows a successful accumulation stage. At this
point, it is time for the portfolio to provide an income stream upon retirement.
Maintaining the principal value of the account while providing income which
steps up annually to offset the effects of inflation is the usual objective.
However, transitioning the portfolio from the accumulation to the preservation
stage begins years before retirement. We have developed successful techniques
in gradually shifting the portfolio from a growth orientation to an income orientation.
This critical process, if executed properly, will ensure a secure and comfortable
life throughout retirement.
Wealth Transfer
A sound financial plan must take into consideration the ultimate fact that your wealth must be passed on to your heirs. The goal at this point is to transfer as much of your wealth as possible to the beneficiaries of your choice while minimizing, to the greatest extent possible, the amount of estate tax that must be paid to the government. The use of living trusts, charitable trusts, family limited partnerships and a myriad of other techniques can be used to achieve this goal. We help each investor identify which methods will be most successful for them.
Integration
Although there are three distinct stages of wealth management, they must be
considered simultaneously. We work in concert with your CPA and estate- planning
attorney to ensure these three critical elements are working in unison to create
an effective plan. We look forward to the opportunity to assist you.
